President Message
From the President's Desk
In my capacity as the President of The Hindu Education Society Kashmir, it gives me great pride to have added a new feather to my cap and to be closer to the whole world with the launch of this website. It is indeed a matter of great honour for me personally to be associated with an institution that has been working for the betterment of society and Kashmiri communities in particular since its inception in 1945, and that has been working to the betterment of the society in general. There has been this Society for more than 75 years since it was founded by some highly emancipated intellectuals from the Kashmiri Pandit community, and it began working with a vision to provide quality education to the economically impoverished and downtrodden children of the community at the start. It has since become apparent that this vision has broadened in the sense of providing highly intellectual and technologically proficient human resources to the community as well as to society as a whole.
While nearly two decades ago, HESK, which was displaced from Kashmir, continued to contribute toward the upliftement of the people of that area, even though many obstacles and difficulties came its way. The institution was founded in 1992 with the purpose of opening educational institutions in Jammu under its aegis, despite the difficulty and obstacles that came its way. There have been no regrets in the history of the HESK since then. In fact, it has carved out a niche in the field of education in Kashmir as well as in Jammu and continues with its mission of imparting quality education both in Kashmir as well as in Jammu. With the blessings of almighty and cooperation from the esteemed member fraternity, I am not only hopeful but confident that together with a dedicated team of all those associated with this HESK, we will accomplish the cherished Goal of this HESK and carry out its mission with high spirit and zeal.

From the General Secretary's Desk
College is a platform where students prepare themselves to face the world, and Gandhi Memorial College Jammu and Srinagar has strived to mould the personalities of the students in a way that will allow them to face the perplexing, complex situations and challenges of life with confidence, as well as the challenges that life throws at them. Our mission is to provide a range of activities that serve for the development of youthful energies in a judicious all-around manner, properly channelled towards creativity and self-actualization. It is our aim to pursue "Excellence in Education" and we strive to achieve this by incorporating and using the latest innovative methods of teaching and providing first-class state-of-the-art facilities in order to establish excellence in education.
We are also dedicated to the task of initiating in the young minds, traits and values that will help them to refine their entire personae, therefore enabling them to stand out from the crowd as an 'a meteorite sparkles in the galaxy of humankind'. We provide our students with a unique multi- cultural education programme that takes advantage of the explosion of knowledge and globalization of education across social, cultural, and geographical boundaries. It is important for our college and students to be aware of the socio-economic, cultural, and educational scenario in the country on the one hand and on the other hand, it allows them to be considered in a national context. It is because of this that our students have an edge over their peers as they are well equipped to meet the challenges of a global environment. It is because of the cooperation and perfect coordination of every member of the Gandhi Memorial College, a unit of Hindu Education Society Kashmir family that we have been able to create a favourable learning environment and maintain the quality of education.
